Privacy Policy
Short version: we don’t ask for your name or email, we don’t use advertising or analytics cookies, and your game progress stays in your own browser.
This policy explains what data Spell Bee Solver (“we”, “us”) at spellbeeunlimited.uk processes, why, and your choices. It is written with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 in mind.
Data stored on your device
Your words, ranks, streaks, settings (such as dark mode) and saved games are stored in your browser’s local storage. This data never leaves your device unless you share your score yourself. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for spellbeeunlimited.uk.
Push notifications (optional)
If you choose “Yes, notify me” and allow notifications in your browser, your browser gives us a push subscription: a technical address at your browser’s push service (for example Google, Mozilla or Apple) plus encryption keys. We store it only to send you puzzle and new-guide notifications. It does not contain your name or email.
- Legal basis: your consent.
- Turn it off: use the Notifications link in the footer, or block notifications in your browser settings. Expired subscriptions are deleted automatically.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical logs (IP address, browser type, page requested, time) to keep the site secure and working. These logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to identify you.
Cookies
We don’t set advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics or advertising in the future, we will update this policy and ask for consent where required.
Third parties
- Google Fonts delivers the site’s fonts, which means your browser contacts Google’s servers.
- Dictionary links open Merriam-Webster in a new tab; their own privacy policy applies there.
- Hosting: the site is hosted by Namecheap.
Children
The game is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone. Push notifications require the browser owner’s permission.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or object to its use. Because we hold almost no personal data, the simplest steps are clearing your browser data and turning off notifications. For anything else, email hello@spellbeeunlimited.uk. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
We’ll update this page if anything changes, and show the date of the last update.
