Spell Bee Solver is a free, independent home for the Spelling Bee word puzzle: a daily game, Spelling Bee Unlimited, daily answers and hints, a solver and practical strategy guides. There’s no login and no paywall.
Who runs the site
Spell Bee Solver is run by Thomas King, founder and puzzle editor. Thomas plays the daily hive, builds and tests every puzzle, maintains the word list and writes the guides on the blog.
How the puzzles are made
Every hive has seven letters and at least one pangram. Puzzles are generated from a curated English word list and checked so they have between 20 and 90 answers. The daily puzzle is the same for every player each day; Spelling Bee Unlimited creates a fresh hive whenever you want.
How we build the word list
- We start from public-domain dictionaries and remove proper nouns, abbreviations and hyphenated words.
- We filter out very rare words using real-world word frequency, and block offensive words entirely.
- Less common but valid words are accepted as bonus words, so a real English word is rarely rejected.
If you think a word is missing or shouldn’t be there, tell us.
Our data
Our guides use figures from thousands of puzzles generated by our own engine, such as how often each word appears and which endings make up most pangrams. When we quote outside facts, we link to the source.

Spell Bee Solver is an independent site. It isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to The New York Times or its Spelling Bee.
